The Program was signed before His Majesty the King may God assist him on October 22, 2018 during a ceremony in Marrakech on the occasion of the presentation of the rehabilitation and enhancement programs of the medinas of Sale, Meknes, Tetouan and Essaouira. The program focuses on three main areas relating to historical monuments, car parks, accessibility and economic promotion. It involves 54 sites spread over several components. These include the restoration and rehabilitation of the Mansour Palace and 3 major monuments (MMAD 369.00), the restoration and rehabilitation of 14 historic gates (MMAD 66.50), the restoration of 12 km of historic walls (MMAD 56.00), the rehabilitation of 2 historic squares (MMAD 46.00), 3 mosques and Medersa (MMAD 37.00) and 4 towers (MMAD 17.00). In addition, there are 8 historical fountains (MMAD 2.50), the development of 3 car parks with a capacity of 800 places (MMAD 40.00), the restoration and rehabilitation of 7 Hotels and Markets (MMAD 46.00), the creation of tourist circuits on 4 sites (MMAD 100.00) in addition to the proximity installations. (4 sites, MMAD 20.00). The project involves an overall budget of MMAD 800.
