The upcoming Ain Cheggag Industrial Park (ACIP) launched on October 14, 2020, covers an area of 81 hectares. The ACIP is a promising new hub of activity for the commune of Ain Chegag and should, meanwhile, create 7,600 direct jobs.

The forecasted overall budget for the project amounts to 303 MD and is supported at MMAD 145.26, by the Ministry of Industry with MMAD 100, the Ministry of Environment with MMAD 20 and the Regional Council of Fez-Meknes with MMAD 25.26.

The management of the park will be ensured by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Fez-Meknes, while its governance will be entrusted to a central committee chaired by the Ministry of Industry, a regional committee chaired by the Wilaya of Fez-Meknes, as well as a commission for the allocation and monitoring of the development of the project.

This project is divided into two distinct areas:

  • An industrial zone dedicated to leather trades and their ecosystem, which spreads over 50 hectares. Tanneries, leather goods and shoe manufacturing units will receive a leather grant, a logistics zone, multiple support activities and services as well as showrooms.
  • A new generation general industrial zone of 31 Ha. Meeting the best international standards, it includes a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) designed to treat effluents and environmental nuisances. It also provides economic operators with high value-added services, training and logistics … etc.

Area: 81 Ha including 50 Ha dedicated to Leather District and 31 Ha dedicated to the General Industrial Zone.
