The project involves the development of a general industrial zone on the northern extension of Riad Al Omrane Urban Pole in Ouislane. Assets:

• Ouislane provides investors operating, mainly, in the industrial sector with an appropriate environment for the achievement of their projects, with quality infrastructure, competitive prices, and the availability of an important employment pool.
•  Another important asset is the strategic position of the industrial zone of Ouislane, located on the northern extension of Riad Al Omrane Urban Pole in Ouislane.

Description

Agropolis was founded in Meknes in 2010, on a total area of 130 Ha, providing a total of 225 lots. the project is the ideal ecosystem to host industrial activities including food processing, logistics and marketing activities, packaging stations, tertiary activities, training and research and development. Agropolis intends to become a true competitiveness pole, tackle the challenges ahead. it is created with the objective of providing business leaders and researchers with the opportunity to carry out collaborative research and development projects that will enable companies to generate value and employment in the region. This is to be achieved through the establishment of two poles: Agroparc and Qualipole Alimentation, which will enhance the value of key sectors such as olive oil, fruit/vegetables, cereals, milk and meat.

• Location: The Agropole of Meknes enjoys a privileged geographical location, in the center of Morocco in the commune of Sidi Slimane Moul Kifane. It benefits from an optimal connection to all the regions of Morocco, through the highway lines, only 4 km away from the Meknes-East interchange of the Rabat-Fez highway (A2). The Park also benefits from an efficient rail link, with the Meknes train station 13 km away and the Fes train station 70 km away. Moreover, the international airports of Fez and Rabat-Sale are respectively 30 minutes and 1h30 away from the site.

This regional innovation pole, of which the ongoing feasibility study is funded by the French Development Agency, and which involves the Region and the Wilaya of Fez-Meknes, is designed to contribute to the emergence of the traditional potential of the Fez-Meknes region (especially agribusiness) and the development of territorial growth drivers that generate wealth and employment, particularly through the entrepreneurial development in the above-mentioned sectors. The analysis of the agricultural sector of Fez-Meknes region reveals a number of restrictions hindering its development, although its leading position as one of the agribusiness regions of the Kingdom. Among such limitations, we find the fragmentation of agricultural property, which affects its effectiveness and the irregularity of rainfall and the decrease in groundwater, which have a negative impact on the farmed area and on annual production. Moreover, soil erosion, desertification and mineral depletion of the soil lead to a decrease in farmland and a deterioration of grazing lands. To meet these challenges, it is nowadays conventional to consider a "green revolution 2.0".

• Goals: Supporting the upgrading of the agribusiness sector, through providing support to entrepreneurs, promoting research and development and aligning the local agricultural fabric with international standards.

Description

As one of the projects of Medina Fez, funded through a grant from "Millennium Challenge Corporation" (MCC) and intended to revive the craft, the reconstruction of Lalla Yeddouna square, a strategic space, with an area of 7,000 m², which connects Adouat al-Qaraouiyyine to Adouat al-Andalous. Involving a budget of MMAD 330, the project includes the rehabilitation of 11 historical buildings, the renovation of 8 non-architectural buildings, the restoration of a historical bridge and the development of the river and outdoor spaces. This project is carried out in a joint partnership between the Moroccan Government, the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Department of Handicrafts, the Local Authorities of Fez and ADER-Fez. Objective: Boost economic growth through the upgrading of heritage by targeting handicraft, tourism and entertainment sectors:

• Rehabilitation of 11 historic buildings,
• Renovation of 8 buildings,
• Restoration of the historic bridge and development of the river and outdoor spaces.

Description

The new FES SAISS Industrial Park will cover 20 hectares and will be implemented through a joint partnership between the Ministry of Industry, Trade and the Green and Digital Economy, the Ministry of Equipment, Transport and Logistics, Fez-Meknes Regional Council and the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Morocco (project owner).

Oued Fez Golf City is an integrated urban project featuring a unique positioning and an innovative opportunity for living, entertaining and investing. It was designed by Bernard REICHEN, who received the Urban Planning Award in 2005. The project is laid out in perfect harmony around an 18-hole golf course developed by Jonathan GAUNT. It represents the city's new residential and tourist hub, with its hotels and residential units and a living area consisting of entertainment, shops and leisure facilities. Assets :

•  An inclusive project providing a wide range of facilities for sports, socio-cultural and leisure activities: conference center, theater, shops, market, secondary school, sports field, mosque...
•  Located at the heart of the city of Fez, Oued Fez Golf City project covers 166 hectares. With its strategical location on the road to Meknes, facing the royal palace, and backed by the ONCF station of Fez, the project is 5 minutes from the downtown and 15 km from Fez-Saïs airport.
• An 18-hole golf oasis spread over 60 hectares.

Description

The former Cotef zone is only 20 minutes away from the Fez-Saïss international airport, the ONCF Bensouda dry port and the Fez-Meknes highway. Indeed, the land reclamation and the opening of calls for projects for the construction of industrial units in rental mode by Fez-Meknes RIC, triggered the development of this 15.2-hectare land formerly served as the Fez Textile Complex, which has long been the flagship of the textile industry in Morocco until 2005 when it ceased operating. By the end of May 2021, 20 projects have been selected by the Unified Regional Investment Commission (CRUI) following a rigorous multicriteria selection methodology (added value of the activity, investment amount, job opportunities, completion deadline, export, etc). The projects planned on the 24 lots (including 3 equipment) should generate 2,941 direct jobs for scheduled investments amounting to MMAD 497.7. Area: 15,2 Ha including 9,4 Ha already built Jobs : 2.941

Description

The upcoming Ain Cheggag Industrial Park (ACIP) launched on October 14, 2020, covers an area of 81 hectares. The ACIP is a promising new hub of activity for the commune of Ain Chegag and should, meanwhile, create 7,600 direct jobs. The forecasted overall budget for the project amounts to 303 MD and is supported at MMAD 145.26, by the Ministry of Industry with MMAD 100, the Ministry of Environment with MMAD 20 and the Regional Council of Fez-Meknes with MMAD 25.26. The management of the park will be ensured by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Fez-Meknes, while its governance will be entrusted to a central committee chaired by the Ministry of Industry, a regional committee chaired by the Wilaya of Fez-Meknes, as well as a commission for the allocation and monitoring of the development of the project. This project is divided into two distinct areas:

• An industrial zone dedicated to leather trades and their ecosystem, which spreads over 50 hectares. Tanneries, leather goods and shoe manufacturing units will receive a leather grant, a logistics zone, multiple support activities and services as well as showrooms.
• A new generation general industrial zone of 31 Ha. Meeting the best international standards, it includes a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) designed to treat effluents and environmental nuisances. It also provides economic operators with high value-added services, training and logistics … etc.

Progress status: In the start-up phase. Area: 81 Ha including 50 Ha dedicated to Leather District and 31 Ha dedicated to the General Industrial Zone. Number of units: 239.

With an overall budget of MMAD 583, the additional program of development of the Medina of Fez covers the restoration of 11 historical monuments and iconic sites, 10 places of worship (mosques and Koranic school) and 40 welfare places (Hammam, fountains and sanitary facilities), the rehabilitation of 39 craft and traditional trade places, the improvement of the urban landscape and the architectural landscape (17 sites) and the rehabilitation of Dar Al Makina.

The Program was signed before His Majesty the King may God assist him on October 22, 2018 during a ceremony in Marrakech on the occasion of the presentation of the rehabilitation and enhancement programs of the medinas of Sale, Meknes, Tetouan and Essaouira. The program focuses on three main areas relating to historical monuments, car parks, accessibility and economic promotion. It involves 54 sites spread over several components. These include the restoration and rehabilitation of the Mansour Palace and 3 major monuments (MMAD 369.00), the restoration and rehabilitation of 14 historic gates (MMAD 66.50), the restoration of 12 km of historic walls (MMAD 56.00), the rehabilitation of 2 historic squares (MMAD 46.00), 3 mosques and Medersa (MMAD 37.00) and 4 towers (MMAD 17.00). In addition, there are 8 historical fountains (MMAD 2.50), the development of 3 car parks with a capacity of 800 places (MMAD 40.00), the restoration and rehabilitation of 7 Hotels and Markets (MMAD 46.00), the creation of tourist circuits on 4 sites (MMAD 100.00) in addition to the proximity installations. (4 sites, MMAD 20.00). The project involves an overall budget of MMAD 800.

This program, which requires an investment of about MMAD 400, aims to improve accessibility to the old medina through the development of eight car parks (Bin Lamdoun, Bab Guissa, Bab Jdid, Bab Hamra, Ain Azliten, Oued Zhoun, Bab Boujloud, Sidi Bounafae), the paving of streets, alleys, squares and plazas, the rehabilitation of openings, the addressing of streets, alleys, squares and plazas of the Medina and the installation of information terminals for locals, visitors and tourists.

Description

The main objective of this project is to find an alternative to the current overexploitation of the groundwater, which records an annual deficit of 100 million m3/year. The contribution of surface water is considered as an alternative to limit the pressure on groundwater. The average annual volume to be transferred is about 125 Mm ³. Indeed, the water from the dam would make it possible to serve a priority area of 30,000 ha, and to meet several objectives: of which the two most important are as follows:

1. Stop the progressive and rapid depletion of the Saïss groundwater, caused by:
   • The irregularity and decrease in rainfall leading to an overuse of groundwater;
   • The farmers' unrestricted pumping behavior, thus increasing the overexploitation of groundwater.
2. Enable agricultural development based on better irrigation water productivity;

This project falls in line with the royal message on the occasion of the ceremonial launch on April 5, 2008 of the 1,200th anniversary of the founding of the city of Fez. It is the first modern tannery project in Morocco. Genuine structuring project, the craft pole of Ain Nokbi is intended in particular for the resettlement of craftsmen of the Place Lalla Yeddouna in the old medina. It also aims at protecting the wadi Sebbou against polluting waste of craft activities, the upgrading and restructuring of the trades of brassware and tanning, improving the quality of handicrafts, increasing investment and promoting employment.

In order to boost these alike traditional trades, several initiatives have been launched recently in the city of Fez. This includes the project of creating the craft village of Benjellik, which was introduced in 2004 with the aim of bringing together all the potter-zellige craftsmen of the city on a 27-hectare site. The project is designed to put an end to the polluting activities that threaten the lives of the local population, to improve the working conditions of craftsmen, as well as the quality of their production and to increase their income. 49 lots intended for potter and zellige craftsmen.

HM King Mohammed VI launched on Monday at the R'cif Place in Fez, the program to enhance economic activities and improve the living environment in the Medina of Fez (2020-2024), a new generation program aimed at safeguarding and perpetuating traditional trades and promoting the living conditions of citizens. This program, worth 670 million dirhams, testifies to HM the King's constant willingness to preserve the architectural and historical character of the medina of Fez and to promote the influence of this thousand-year-old city, inscribed in 1981 on the World Heritage List by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). This new program, which concerns 1,197 sites, provides for the restoration and rehabilitation of the historical heritage of the medina of Fez (4 sites/MAD 13.5 million), the requalification and upgrading of urban areas (9 sites/MAD 105.55 million), the strengthening of the tourist and economic attractiveness of this City-Museum (33 sites/MAD 87.5 million), the development of local social facilities (171 sites/ MAD 263.45 million) and the renovation of dangerously run-down housing (980 sites/ MAD 200 million).

The project of Ain Aicha EAZ involves the development of a platform dedicated to the relocation of craftsmen's industrial workshops and to host new industries.

•  Project location: the project is located in the core of Ain Aicha, at the eastern border of its urban perimeter. It is delimited in the South by the Provincial Road RP5314 connecting Ain Aicha to Ain Mediouna, and bordered to the North by Oued Ouargha.
•  Total area of the zone: 11 Ha (including 8 Ha of useful area)

Description

Development of 7 logistics zones on an area of 365 Ha. Open to private and public investment and intended to house different operators in the sector, such logistics zones will be equipped with a modern logistics infrastructure consisting of quality real estate components and adjusted to the economic activities of the region. The zones will be developed in two areas, namely logistics spaces (new generation logistics park, SME / SMI park and intermediate storage, large plots for specific logistics activities, storage and marketing of construction materials) and a second type of space for services (Road Center, reception and services to people and companies and a plot dedicated to the training center).

Special focus on Ras El Ma Logistics Zone: The site of the Logistics Zone in Ras El Ma covers an area of 100 Ha. The first phase of this logistic zone will be built on an area of approximately 32 Ha including the following functional blocks:

• Logistics areas: new generation rental logistics park, SME/SMI rental park and intermediate storage, large plots for specific logistics activities
• Service areas: road center, reception and service center for people and companies and a plot dedicated to the training center

The Ras El Ma LZ Project will be allocated a budget of MMAD 100 as part of the Regional Development Program of Fez-Meknes region for the renovation of the first phase covering an area of 32 hectares.
